About RTI
The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 empowers citizens to request information from public authorities, thereby promoting transparency and accountability in the functioning of institutions. Under this Act, educational institutions funded or recognized by the government fall under Section 4(1)(b) and Section 2(h), and are mandated to provide information unless exempted under Section 8.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) mandates that all colleges and universities (receiving government aid or recognition) must appoint a Public Information Officer (PIO) to handle RTI applications and must provide institutional details proactively.

How to File RTI
- Submit written application physically at the college office or via email
- Include the prescribed RTI fee as per government norms
- Response will be provided within 30 days as per the Act
